Herbal Parasite Detox

Herbal Parasite Detox

Dr. Hulda Clark, a Canadian naturopath, introduced the idea of this herbal parasite cleanse in her 1993 book, The Cure for All Cancers. Dr. Clark believed that many chronic illnesses were caused by parasites and toxins within the body. She designed a cleanse to remove parasites at every stage of their lifecycle. Cloves, containing eugenol, eliminate the egg stage as they are thought to dissolve the casing around the eggs. Wormwood, containing sesquiterpene lactone, is thought to kill the larvae by weakening their membrane. Black walnut hull, containing juglone, is thought to eradicate parasites by creating a toxic environment, targeting adult and larval forms. She believed that using all of these three herbs together was necessary in order to prevent the reinfection of parasites.

Like many others in herbal medicine, Clark’s claims have been heavily criticized by the medical community. They are not supported by scientific evidence, per se, although the herbs that she used in her trio have a long history in traditional medicine, from native cultures in the Americas, to Europe, Middle East, and China.

Many people use this herbal combination as part of natural detox routines, especially gut health detoxes. Something important to consider when taking any detox is to incorporate a binder, a substance that binds to toxins to help eliminate them from the body. They can help gently alleviate some of the more aggressive symptoms of detoxing, such as headache, fatigue, mood swings, upset stomach, and muscle aches. Some popular binders include activated charcoal, bentonite clay, fruit pectin, soluble fibers, and zeolite.

Parasites absorb metals from the host digestive system, which they use for their own survival, so when you do a parasite cleanse and they die, these stored metals can be released into the body, causing a temporary toxic overload. This is why I personally use a zeolite binder. Zeolite binds to heavy metals. The one I use is "Advanced TRS" in a glass bottle. You can get it HERE. Message me for more information :)

This is what I did, low and slow:

  • Start with 0.25 mL on Day 1. Increase daily by 0.25 mL until reaching 2.0 mL on Day 7.
  • Days 8–14: Take 2.0 mL once daily.Take on an empty stomach, 30–60 minutes before meals, diluted in a small amount of water (not juice). Shake well before use.
  • 50% alcohol by volume
  • Dosing is for average adult

💧 How Much Tincture Will You Need?

Week 1 total= 7.25 mL

Week 2 total= 14 mL

🔁 Optional Maintenance Dosing (Weekly) =12 mL

After the initial cleanse, many protocols suggest:

  • 2 mL once per week (on an empty stomach) for up to 6 weeks adding 12 mL more

✅ Buy at least 1.5 to 2 oz (45–60 mL) 2 oz. tincture.

⚠️ Safety Notes

  • Wormwood (Artemisia absinthium) in large or prolonged doses can be neurotoxic (due to thujone).
  • Black walnut hull contains juglone, which can irritate the gut in excess.
  • Cloves are generally safer but are powerful antimicrobials.

Do NOT use if:

  • Pregnant or nursing
  • You have liver, kidney, or seizure disorders
  • You're taking certain medications (check with a provider)
